    Message:

    Rename to Inkwell, with a new icon and brand art drawn in code

    • App and widget are now called Inkwell (package id unchanged, so it
      updates in place).
    • New launcher icon: a cream inkwell with amber ink and a quill on warm
      charcoal, plus a themed-icon silhouette. Fitted to the adaptive-icon
      safe zone so round masks don't clip the quill.
    • branding/generate.py draws everything: the icon layers (vector
      drawables), icon.svg/icon-512.png, a README banner, a store feature
      graphic and the widget picker preview image. One set of shapes feeds
      both the Android and SVG output.
    • Widget picker preview restyled to match (serif italic, quill icon).

    Message:

    Version 2: fully customisable widget, custom fonts, rebuilt app

    Widget

    • Every widget has its own style, edited with a live preview: presets,
      font/size/weight/italic/spacing/colour for the quote, a templated
      subtext line ({author} {source} {category} {date} {weekday}) and an
      optional header, background (wallpaper roles, custom colour, gradient,
      none) with opacity, corner radius and padding, 20 icons or a profile
      picture, and content (collection, favourites, daily/hourly/on-tap/fixed
      rotation, tap to open or show the next quote).
    • Any font, including imported .ttf/.otf files: text is drawn with the
      real Typeface into tinted ALPHA_8 bitmaps, laid out for the widget's
      exact size. The editor preview uses the same renderer.
    • Resizable in both directions, reconfigurable from the launcher on
      Android 12+. Version 1 widgets keep their settings.

    App

    • Four tabs: Today (quote of the day, shuffle, favourites, stats),
      Library (search, collections, favourites, hidden/restore, delete),
      Widgets (placed widgets with live previews) and Settings (theme, Material
      You or accent, heading and body fonts, share card scenery and font, JSON
      import/export). Animated throughout.
    • Nine bundled OFL fonts plus system families; custom fonts can be
      imported and deleted.

    Data

    • Room v2: favourites, collections and sources, with a migration that
      keeps existing quotes and adds a 31-quote starter collection.

    Build

    • AGP 8.13, Kotlin 2.2.21, Compose BOM 2026.06, compileSdk 35; CI moved to
      the android runner label like BibleApp, with unit tests and a release
      upload. The tag-only release workflow is gone.
    Downloads
